Feline age in human terms
Cat Years to Human Years Calculator
Cat years to human years with a curved table (not 7×). Default 7 yr → ~44 human, life stage, timeline, months entry.

Cat’s age
Enter both together (for example 2 years and 6 months) or set months to 0 for whole years only. Values like 18 months alone can be entered as 1 year and 6 months, or as 0 years and 18 months (extra months roll into years automatically). Combined age is capped at 30 cat years.
Human equivalent
your 7-year-old cat is approximately 44 in human years
~44 human years
Raw estimate: 44.0 yr (interpolated table)
About this life stage
Middle age for many cats. Your vet may begin tracking weight, blood pressure, and organ function more closely. Keeping activity and muscle tone helps long-term mobility.
Lifespan timeline (0–30 cat years)
Bands show typical life-stage groupings, not exact biology for every cat. The marker is your cat’s current age on the same scale.
Example: 7-year-old cat (default)
By default (7 years, 0 months), the table gives about 44 human-equivalent years and a Mature badge on the timeline. The fun comparison line below the chart is a light cultural quip from your rounded human age, not veterinary advice.

Cat years to human years: curved table, life stages, limits
Piecewise cat-to-human anchors with interpolation, stage labels, and a 0–30 year timeline. Educational only; not a DNA age test or lifespan forecast.
What This Calculator Does
- Good for:“How old is my 7-year-old cat in human years?” and checking why six kitten months already look like a school-age kid on the curve.
- Not for:Biological age from blood or methylation assays, disease prediction, or breed-specific lifespan guarantees.
How the Math Works
- Early months:Anchors at 1, 3, 6, and 9 months create a steep rise (for example 6 months → ~10 human-equivalent years).
- Adult anchors:Listed cat years 1–16 step in even human-year jumps on the table; between anchors the value moves linearly (7.5 cat years sits halfway between the 7- and 8-year human equivalents).
- Very old cats:Above 25 cat years the curve adds 4 human-equivalent years per cat year so extreme ages do not flatten.
- Life-stage bands (timeline):Kitten ≤0.5 yr; junior <1 yr; young adult ≤2; prime ≤6; mature ≤10; senior ≤14; super-senior above 14 (same cutoffs as the UI).
- Worked examples:
1 cat year → about 15 human-equivalent years (young adult).
1.5 cat years (18 months) → about 19.5 (~20 rounded), halfway between the 1- and 2-year anchors.
7 cat years (page default) → 44 human-equivalent, Mature.
12 cat years → 64 human-equivalent, Senior on this timeline.
How to Use This Calculator
- Months-only entry:0 years and 6 months is the same curve point as 0 years 6 months after folding (about 10 human-equivalent years).
- Fun comparison line:Picked from rounded human age bands in the component. Meant to amuse, not to match pediatric or geriatric medicine literally.

Pets & Animals Estimation Note
Educational Tools: Calculators in this category (for example feeding estimates, age comparisons, or portion math) produce general estimates from published formulas or reference tables. They are not diagnoses, prescriptions, or substitutes for examining your pet.
Consult a Veterinarian: Individual animals differ by species, breed, age, behavior, and health status. Confirm diet changes, supplements, medications, and any urgent symptoms with a licensed veterinarian.
Inputs Matter: Results depend on the numbers and selections you supply (such as weight, label energy density, or age). Tables and benchmarks cannot capture every companion animal.
Privacy First: All calculations run locally in your browser. No pet or owner data is sent to a server.
